Our customer is a technical production company located in the eastern part of the Netherlands with about 220 employees. The company is a part of an international organization with approx. 2800 employees worldwide. The strategy of the company was in the past production orientated. The company is now making a change to be a more customer and sales driven organization with an increasing importance of sales and marketing.
The revenue of the company in the Netherlands was € 40 Million in 2010.

Managing Director


For our client we are looking for a Managing Director who will be able to contribute substantially to the structuring and growth of the company. This is a challenging position with a combination of leadership and commercial activities.

Responsibilities

The main objective of the new Managing Director will be to develop the organisation for both revenue and profit growth and to improve competitiveness.  You will work with the group functions and sister companies in developing market leading product and service offers.

In general this means to:
  • lead the turnaround by developing an organization and culture fit for a customer and a market orientated approach;
  • analyze the organization and processes to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency;
  • guide and support a change in the sales organisation, structure and to route the market policy;
  • bring new products to market in a timely and cost effective manner;
  • improve competitiveness;
  • develop and establish personal strong customer relationships;
  • implement and manage a system of performance indicators;
  • build strong relationships with other departments and companies within the group.

The Managing Director will have lateral relationships with other Managing Directors within the company group. Since the Managing Director will play a proactive role in market development, you will be required to travel in this position.

 Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (BSc or Master)
  • Preferably an additional degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • At least 5-10 years in a Managing Directors position
  • International industrial experience
  • Documented success in delivering innovative solutions
  • Proven negotiations skills on different levels
  • Apart from Dutch (native) you also speak fluent English

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate success and has implemented change in an industrial environment. You have to have affinity and knowledge of technical products and understand technical specifications. Moreover you have a sound knowledge of manufacturing in a global environment.
