Senior Embedded Software Engineer
For Omrons European R&D department, in ’s-Hertogenbosch – The Netherlands, we are urgently looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, who creates more than one new product.
In this position you make a deciding contribution to the complete development process, from concept, planning and design to production. You are working together with hardware and System Test Engineers, with colleagues from Marketing, Sales and Production and of course with the customer.
Responsibilities
Development
As Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Omron you are responsible for the development of (parts of) the design of solutions and/or products, based on defined system specification and high-level design, in order to contribute to the timely and efficient realization of assigned project deliverables.
Quality
You ensure the quality of the product through testing and evaluating (part of) developed project designs and implement preventive or corrective countermeasures when needed to ensure the delivery of a high-quality and cost efficient design.
Maintenance and support
You maintain and support (part of) developed designs and initiate and execute improvements to ensure solutions and/or that products continuously will match changing environmental conditions and/or customer requirements.
Reporting
You report on projects status and deliverables in order to provide colleagues and managers with insights into a project’s progress and results.
Knowledge
You acquire and implement knowledge to the process and technology relevant for Omron and/or your own working activities. Depending on your level of know-how you do this in consultation with external organizations (universities, suppliers). This in order to keep up-to-date with state of the art process and technology and to contribute to development of the departmental expertise.
Coaching
You tutor, coach and functionally assess less experienced engineers, within own engineering discipline, in order to contribute to the development and efficient performance of less experienced engineers.
Requirements
You have experience in the following areas:
- Real-time Embedded C development with strong object orientated skills;
- Real-time deeply embedded systems and embedded operating systems;
- Industrial communication protocols;
- Controlling peripherals like MPU counters, DMA, memories and ASICs;
- Defining hardware software interfaces together with hardware colleagues;
- Reading and reviewing hardware schematics;
- Code quality analysis using tools like QA-C and Lint;
- Analysis of meeting real-time requirements;
- Enabling parallel software development by partitioning a system.
